Owner-Fisherman

In 2017, I was provided with the opportunity to fish commercially in Bristol Bay, Alaska on the fishing vessel "Cowboy". I quickly fell in love with the work, rugged landscape, and of course the salmon. Each summer since, as the sockeye begin their annual spawning migration, I head north to fish. I’ve always been fortunate to be able to bring back a few fillets to share with friends and family. I realized that living in a community in the midwest, we don’t have great access to quality seafood or the ability to feel a connection to the fishermen that harvest it. In 2021 Wild Source Salmon LLC was formed with the goal of providing a traceable and fishermen direct source of wild salmon from our boat to the local community. My true passion lies in sharing premium salmon from a truly sustainable fishery and telling the story of the catch from our deck to your dish!

The Fishing Family

The fishermen of Bristol Bay belong to a tight knit community. In the summer we live by the tide, and fish around the clock. When the boat is stored for the winter and another successful season is in the books, we take a deep breath and have pride in our work! Our fleet collectively harvests over 60% of the annual global supply of sockeye salmon. The boats in Bristol Bay are run by a majority of family operations and Alaskan natives that have handed down their tradition for many generations. By choosing salmon direct from the fisherman, you are supporting small business and become a stakeholder in the health and sustainability of the Bristol Bay fishery.
